Talaria Sting R MX4 specs, top speed, range and price
Last updated
The Sting R MX4 is Talaria's answer to the Sur-Ron Light Bee, and for most first-time buyers it is the easier bike to live with straight out of the crate: more peak power, a noticeably bigger battery, and Fastace suspension that does not need an immediate upgrade.

How fast is it, really?
On a full charge with a 180 lb rider, the MX4 pulls to roughly 50 mph on flat hardpack in its highest power mode.
The extra controller current shows up most between 20 and 40 mph, where the Talaria simply keeps pulling while a stock Light Bee flattens out.
Real-world range
The 2.7 kWh pack is about 40% larger than a Light Bee X pack, which translates to roughly 25–40 miles of mixed trail riding.
Ridden hard in the top power mode on open terrain, expect closer to 20 miles.
Verdict
Buy the Sting R MX4 if you want the most usable bike per dollar without immediately spending on suspension. It is heavier than a Light Bee and slightly less nimble in tight woods, but it climbs better and goes further.
Is it street legal?
Sold as off-road only. Registration for street use depends on your state or province.
