How fast is a Light Bee X, really?
Stock, on a fully charged pack with a ~180 lb rider on flat hardpack, the Light Bee X tops out around 45–47 mph in Sport mode. Eco mode caps you near 24 mph, which is the mode most riders leave it in for tight woods work. Speed drops noticeably below roughly 30% state of charge, so a "47 mph bike" is a 40 mph bike by the end of a long session.
Real-world range
The 62 mile claim comes from a low-speed Eco test. Plan for 25–40 miles of mixed trail, or closer to 15–20 miles if you're riding aggressively in Sport mode with lots of climbing. Cold weather below 5 °C can cut usable capacity by 15–25%. If you want your own number instead of an average, log a few rides with E Buddy's GPS tracker and the range estimator will learn your actual watt-hours per mile.
Who it suits
- Great for: trail riders, commuting on private land, anyone who wants the deepest aftermarket parts catalogue in the category.
- Less great for: big-hit MX jumps on the stock DNM suspension, or riders over ~220 lb without a spring upgrade.
- Not for: legal road use out of the crate — it ships as an off-road machine.
Before you ride it on the street
The Light Bee X is sold as an off-road vehicle and is not street legal from the factory in the US or Canada. Where you can legally ride depends on your state or province.
